The rain was in control again last night and the Western Cup final between Titwood and Partick was postponed for the second time. A new date will be identified and publicised shortly.

A number of items to share. We have now moved into August so it is now unlikely that any player transfers between clubs will be accepted. New player registrations are still permitted.
I’m afraid that there was a significant increase in poor player/official behaviour in July leading to a number of sanctions. Could clubs remind all players and team officials of their responsibilities please. It is important that all teams play within the spirit of cricket. You may well have noticed that the Fair Play league tables were published on the website this week. If you haven’t already done so could you check how your teams are doing and let the players know please. The league tables are shaping up well and looks like there will be excitement at both ends of tables as we move to the end of the season. Good luck to all teams in their quest for glory or safety!!
It was a disappointing week for the Cup Finals as none of them were played due to the weather. They have all been rescheduled for the corresponding days next week.
Final reminder for the season for this one. Please ensure that your captains pay the umpires’ fees on time and that all scorecards/Captain’s reports and fair play scores are entered accurately and on time.
On Tuesday next week an Under 21 WDCU Select XI is playing the Ulster Schools XI at Hamilton Crescent. The game starts at 11am, so if you are in the area please drop in.

With the cancellation of the Greenwood Trophy at Albert Park last night the weather proved the only winner this week. All three cup finals move on to next week at the same time at the same venues.
Here’s hoping for better weather.
Last night’s McCulloch Cup final at Glenpark between Tunnock’s Uddingston and Ferguslie was hit by the poor weather. Not one ball was bowled. Both teams will try again next Wednesday.
The Greenwood Trophy Final between Victoria and Dean Park is scheduled for 6pm at Albert Park tonight. Let’s hope we get this one on!!
Please find attached below the second instalment of the Fair Play league tables. Have a look and see how other teams rate your clubs behaviour and playing within the Spirit of the Game.
Fair Play league tables, Third and Fourth Division, and Premier Reserve League, July 2019
Unfortunately the weather intervened half way through the first innings of the final of the Western Cup last night! So Titwood and Partick will have to do it all again nest Tuesday night!
Tonight’s McCulloch Cup final between Uddingston and Ferguslie is still scheduled to go ahead at 6pm tonight at Glenpark in Greenock. Come along and enjoy the final of one of the WDCU’s premier cup competitions.
Please see the updated Fair Play league tables for the Premier, First and Second Divisions. Check out where your team is in the document attached below!
Third Division, Fourth Division and Premier Reserve League tables will be published tomorrow.

Training will never be the same again as Hillhead CC opened their brand new practice nets last night . The net facility was opened by Tony Brian, Chair of Cricket Scotland, and welcomed by a group of playing members both old and young! Good luck to Hillhead with their new facility and here’s hoping it is extremely well used!
