West of Scotland CC is seeking an experienced Coach for season 2018 to develop and augment its senior and junior development programme, and mentor its volunteer coaches. The contract will be April to September. The remuneration for the post will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have ECB Level 3 qualification (or equivalent). Disclosure/PVG Scheme membership is essential.

The WDCU CMC have released the League administration rules for the 2018 WDCU Saturday League participation. Clubs are strongly advised to read the rules thoroughly to ensure that they understand the requirements that they will need to meet with regard to League participation. If there are any questions then please direct in the first instance to the WDCU Administrator at admin@wdcu.co.uk
Renfrew CC is looking to engage an individual who has the commitment and experience to continue to develop and enhance the junior coaching programme and lead the overall club coaching programme from juniors through to seniors with the support of a team of dedicated volunteer coaches. The minimum requirements are ECB Level 2 coaching certificate or acceptable equivalent, PVG Scheme membership, safeguarding CRB, First Aid and coaches association membership, all which should be up to date. The period of the contract may run from March to September dependent on confirmation of schools coaching programme, but as a minimum period will start on the 15th of April 2018 and run until September the 8th 2018.

In line with recent seasons and playing conditions, cancelled games in these competitions can be re-scheduled as follows:
Sunday League: Cancelled games may be re-scheduled between Sunday the 6th of May and Sunday the 9th of September inclusive, at the agreement of both clubs and notification to the WDCU Administrator. Midweek League: Cancelled games may be re-scheduled between Monday the 7th of May and Friday the 10th of August inclusive, at the agreement of both clubs and notification to the WDCU Administrator.

West of Scotland CC is looking for a groundsman starting within the next month. An immediate start is available. Hours will change seasonally, with 35 hours a week required for six months during the summer and hours negotiated on a weekly basis outside of this. Rate is negotiable and dependent upon experience.

Cricket Scotland, in conjunction with the ECB, will be running a Performance Coach Course in Scotland this spring/summer. The course, which is the level above the ECB Level 2 Qualification, is designed to meet the needs of coaches working with the most talented young players in clubs or in the Cricket Scotland Performance Pathway. It aims to develop and equip coaches with the knowledge, skills and thinking to work effectively within talented players environments. Coaches can expect to explore and develop their coaching philosophy, develop a deeper understanding of cricket skills required to achieve high level performance and use techniques to help them better understand themselves as coaches and players they work with. Coaches interested in attending the ECB performance coach course will be required to hold an existing Level 2 qualification or equivalent, have acquired some experience of working with talented young players, and demonstrate a willingness and open-mindedness to learn. The programme is tutored by a variety of personnel with experience at both international and county level.
The course will be held on the following dates: 3rd – 6th of April at Mary Erskine School and 30th May – 1st June at Forfarshire Cricket club

Due to a successful 2017 – Rosy Ryan (West Women and Girls’ Development Officer) is happy to announce that a Women & Girls’ Forum will be held on Saturday, 3rd of March, Uddingston CC, 11am – 1pm.
“This is an open invitation to all clubs in the West who are interested in starting up at Women and Girls’ section or those who are continually growing theirs. It is extremely important to come along to this event as we will be establishing Women and Girls’ HUBS across the West. Cricket Scotland have acknowledged that there is a growing interest in clubs to further develop. It would be fantastic to see the majority of clubs who are serious about this opportunity. This includes clubs that already have a Women & Girls’ section. Clubs who are not able to come will miss out on this chance.
