Please see most recent COVID-19 activity update from Cricket Scotland.
“Following the Scottish Government announcement on 4 January, guidance for cricket activity had been updated and can be found here.
“In summary, as mainland Scotland is now in enhanced Level 4 restrictions, the key changes to cricket activity are as follows:
1. No indoor cricket activity permitted.

- For groups up to a maximum of eighteen – This number includes a maximum of up to two coaches (including any youth helpers 12 and over).
- Coaches should wear a face covering and abide by standard physical distancing rules
3. Travel restriction within local protection levels:
- Travel is restricted (as previously) but with ‘stay at home’ the key message.
- There are however exemptions for sport, exercise and recreation and participants can still travel up to 5 miles from the boundary of a LA to take part in informal exercise as long they abide by the rules on meeting other households e.g. two adults from maximum of two households.
4. No competition is permitted.
5. Coaching:
- Adult one to one coaching is permitted.
- Adjacent nets should not be used.
- Coaches should wear a face covering.
- Group coaching for under 12s is permitted (as in point 2 above).

Neil Cauldwell the secretary of the newly formed Cricket Scotland Match Officials Association (“CSMOA”) has produced their first newsletter. Please see it attached below.

The WDCU AGM will be held on Wednesday, 9 December at 7pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the meeting will be held by Zoom. Clubs are reminded that they are required to register their representative with the WDCU administrator no later than Monday 7 of December.
It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of Leslie Ingram-Brown and Arthur Pryde. Both men were stalwarts of the game in the west, and contributed hugely to their clubs over a long number of years. Both were avid spectators in their later years and were often seen at grounds throughout the west enjoying games. Our thoughts are with their families at this sad time.

Please see below information on a survey being carried out by the Scottish Government. I would strongly urge all clubs to complete it where possible.
The Scottish Government Health and Sport Committee is looking into the impact of COVID-19 on sport in the community. They have launched an online survey to be completed by sporting organisations, sports clubs and venues to inform the committee about the impact COVID-19 has had on the: ability of sporting organisations to provide community based activities and initiatives; the financial impact; and the potential long term impact. The survey can be found here and the deadline for return is Friday 7 December.
